Click over to the Advanced tab and click the Change button in the Virtual memory section. Windows automatically manages your page file settings by default. Greetings OS: Windows 10 Pro ver.1709 build 16299.192 Yesterday my pc almost freezed. It was hard to do anything and hard disk lights+noise were on all the time. While some users may find the volume on-screen display useful, as it gives feedback when the volume up or down buttons are used on the device, others dislike the popup for a number of reasons.

Microsoft offers no built-in way to disable it, but there is a way to hide it.

Hide the volume on-screen display on Windows 10 devices

With Hide Volume OSD, you can completely block the Windows Volume overlay from showing up when you press either the volume or media keys on your PC.

When you install the app, it tuns in the background like any other utility and you have the ability to run it either silently in the background or with the system tray which gives you more control.

Disable Volume Sound Windows 10

The software program requires the Microsoft .NET Framework 4 (which is included in Windows 10) and needs to be installed before it can be used.

Download Hide Volume OSD:

HideVolumeOSD is a small (334 KB) program that starts with Windows and hides the volume display. It has two installation options.

The program supports two modes of operation:

– The Tray icon option toggles between the volume display being visible and being hidden.
– The Silent option keeps the volume display hidden.
Both auto start with Windows, and both add an icon to the notification tray.

Install the application and choose to install the tray icon version. You’ll get a system tray icon that starts automatically when you sign in. Click the tray icon to toggle the volume display on or off.

Just select the mode that you want to use and that is it. The volume on-screen display is hidden after installation automatically which you can verify by using the hardware buttons on the device to change the volume.

Tip: you can check the volume at any time by interacting with the native volume icon in the system tray area of the operating system.

Note: To hide the volume OSD you can select the menu item “Hide Volume OSD” or just click on the tray Icon. With this item you can toggle between visible and hidden volume OSD. If you exit the application, the volume OSD is always restored to visible state.
